Orange Wine on the Rocks

One of the best ways to enjoy the unique flavours and fragrances of Baldoria Orange Wine is to drink it on the rocks. Place a large ice cube in a tumbler glass and pour 80ml of Baldoria Orange Wine over it. Sip and enjoy!

Inspiration behind the product

Orange wine has been a staple of Georgian tradition for centuries - since 6000 BC, to be exact. It’s made by fermenting ripe white grapes, stems, skins, pips and all, in a large clay amphora buried in the earth. The grapes ferment for up to five or six months underground, and the fermented juice is then separated out and bottled. The wine issued is acidic and amber-hued, with a bold flavour, a rich colour, and a sweet sourness to it.

What makes it unique

Baldoria takes this orange wine, produced by natural wine producers Artana Wines, and uses it as a base for a botanical vermouth. The botanicals are carefully selected: three different wormwoods - Artemisia absinthium, Artemisia valesiaca, and Artemisia pontica - along with bitter genepy, a floral touch of lavender, some summer savoury, a bright burst of orange peel, and a handful of cinnamon to balance out the intense flavours.
